Let’s see if it’s good enough for government work. I’m replacing some burned out resistors so the odometer displays again. Guess which side I did first!
Update: Didn’t work, didn’t break anything else. Lateral moves are ok by me. Then I stepped on a roofing nail which went through my shoe. Good times.

Wow, that’s rough. Hopefully you didn’t short anything because it kind of looks like you did. Get a Hakko 808. They’re a lifesaver for removing old components.

Oppo top tip: use flux.
If it were me I would redo those.

They were before I started. The factory resistors overheat.
Worst case scenario I have a odometer that still doesn’t work.

Looks like a boogery weld. I’d redo that. Remember, prep is the most important part. Clean surfaces/use flux. What was the goal here? Is there stranded wire under that glob?
